NMPA Annual Meeting to Feature CEO Industry Address, Songwriter Icon Diane Warren, Keynote Kenneth Feinberg & Due Voci Performance

WASHINGTON—The National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA), will host its annual meeting June 16th in New York City. Music publishers and songwriters will gather to discuss the state of the music publishing industry, while honoring songwriters with Gold and Platinum Awards and the Songwriter Icon Award.

David Israelite, President and CEO of the NMPA will deliver the publishing industry’s annual state of the industry address at the gathering. Grammy nominated songwriter Diane Warren will receive the 2010 Songwriter Icon Award, followed by a performance by Due Voci, whose self-titled debut album was released June 8 and features classic interpretations of some of Warren’s greatest hits.

The event will also feature a keynote speech by Kenneth Feinberg, who is administering settlement funds negotiated between the NMPA and record labels on behalf of songwriters and music publishers. Feinberg was named “Lawyer of the Year” by the National Law Journal and “100 Most Influential Lawyer in America”.

About the Songwriter Icon Award
The National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA) established the Songwriter Icon Award in 2006 to recognize outstanding songwriters for personal achievement and who personify the vision of NMPA and the goals of its members. Past recipients include Kara DioGuardi, Amy Lee, Neil Sedaka and Jimmy Webb.
