NMPA Announces Top Gold & Platinum Honorees for October and November 2018
NMPA Honors Songwriters and Publishers of RIAA-Certified Singles
WASHINGTON, D.C. – NMPA today announced the top songwriters, publishers, and 717 certifications of hit songs for October and November as part of its Gold & Platinum Program.
In partnership with the RIAA’s Gold & Platinum Program, NMPA finds and certifies the songwriters and publishers of RIAA-certified singles. RIAA counts both sales and on-demand streams towards its Gold (500K), Platinum (1M) and Multi-Platinum (2M+) thresholds. Thousands of songwriters have been recognized since NMPA’s program began in 2007.

October/November 2018’s top songwriters are A$AP Rocky (Sony/ATV) and Billy Joel (UMPG) , both with 13 certifications:
A$AP Rocky: Wild For The Night and F**kin’ Problems both certified Multi-Platinum; Goldie, L$D, Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2, Pick It Up, and Praise The Lord (Da Shine) certified Platinum; and 1Train, Canal St, Electric Body, Fashion Killa, Long Live A$AP and Peso certified Gold.
Billy Joel: It’s Still Rock And Roll To Me and Piano Man both certified Multi-Platinum; Just The Way You Are, Only The Good Die Young, Uptown Girl and We Didn’t Start The Fire certified Platinum; Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song), New York State Of Mind, Scenes From An Italian Restaurant, She’s Always A Woman, The Longest Time, Vienna and You May Be Right certified Gold.
