NMPA Announces Top Gold & Platinum Songwriters for April 2017
NMPA Honors Songwriters of RIAA-Certified Gold, Platinum & Multi-Platinum Singles
WASHINGTON, D.C. – NMPA today announced the top songwriters and 148 certifications of hit songs for April as part of its Gold & Platinum Program which identifies and honors songwriters of RIAA-certified hits.

In partnership with the RIAA’s Gold & Platinum Program, NMPA finds and certifies the songwriters of RIAA-certified singles. RIAA counts both sales and on-demand streams towards its Gold (500K), Platinum (1M) and Multi-Platinum (2M+) thresholds.  Thousands of songwriters have been recognized since NMPA’s program began in 2007.

The top songwriters tied with five certifications are Aaquil and Khalif Brown, a.k.a. Rae Sremmurd (Warner/Chappell): Black Beatles certified Multi-Platinum, Platinum and Gold; and Swang certified Platinum and Gold.

The next top songwriter with four certifications is Nayvadius Wilburn a.k.a. Future (UMPG): F*ck Up Some Commas and Low Life both certified Multi-Platinum; Used To This certified Platinum; and Blow A Bag certified Gold.
