NMPA Announces Top Gold & Platinum Songwriters for November 2016
NMPA Honors Songwriters of RIAA-Certified Gold, Platinum & Multi-Platinum Singles
WASHINGTON, D.C. – NMPA today announced the top songwriters and 141 certifications of hit songs for November as part of its Gold & Platinum Program which identifies and honors songwriters of RIAA-certified hits.
In partnership with the RIAA’s Gold & Platinum Program, NMPA finds and certifies the songwriters of RIAA-certified singles. RIAA counts both sales and on-demand streams towards its Gold (500K), Platinum (1M) and Multi-Platinum (2M+) thresholds. Thousands of songwriters have been recognized since NMPA’s program began in 2007.
The top songwriter with eight certifications is Eric Church (Sony/ATV): Talladega and Like A Wrecking Ball certified Platinum and Gold; Love Your Love The Most and Creepin’ certified Platinum; and Cold One and Guys Like Me certified Gold.
Other top songwriters include:
Christopher Steven Brown with five certifications (Warner/Chappell): 7 Years certified Multi-Platinum; Bow Chicka Wow Wow certified Platinum and Gold; and 24k Magic and Mama Says both certified Gold.
Tyler Joseph from Twenty One Pilots with three certifications (Warner/Chappell) Heathens, Ride, and Stressed Out all certified Multi-Platinum.
Casey Beathard with three certifications (Sony/ATV): Like Jesus Does certified Platinum; and Like A Wrecking Ball certified Platinum and Gold.
