NMPA Announces Top Gold & Platinum Honorees for September 2019
NMPA Honors Songwriters of RIAA-Certified Gold, Platinum & Multi-Platinum Singles
WASHINGTON, D.C. – NMPA today announced the top songwriters, publishers, and 574 certifications of hit songs for September of 2019 as part of its Gold & Platinum Program.
In partnership with the RIAA’s Gold & Platinum Program, NMPA finds and certifies the songwriters and publishers of RIAA-certified singles. RIAA counts both sales and on-demand streams towards its Gold (500K), Platinum (1M) and Multi-Platinum (2M+) thresholds. Thousands of songwriters have been recognized since NMPA’s program began in 2007.
The top songwriter is Finneas O’Connell (Kobalt) with thirteen certifications: Lovely and When The Party’s Over both certified Multi-Platinum; Bad Guy, Bellyache, Bury a Friend, Idontwannabeyouanymore, and You Should See Me in a Crown certified Platinum; and B**ches Broken Hearts, Bored, Hostage, Listen Before I Go, Six Feet Under, and Watch certified Gold.
