FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / August 8, 2011

“On behalf of the National Music Publishers’ Association, I extend our very best wishes to Mitch Bainwol as he departs the RIAA for new endeavors. Mitch and I have been the closest  of friends long before either of us had the privilege of representing the music industry.  Our friendship, and my admiration for his honesty, character and leadership, has only grown as we have worked together over the last six years.

“Our congratulations also to Cary Sherman on his appointment to the role of Chairman and CEO. He has been a steadfast and effective champion for the recorded music industry for many years, and I look forward to working with him in his new capacity.”
